Therapeutic Sweating Treatment

Pindasweda literally means:

Pinda = a mass of cooked rice soft and round.
Swedana = heat that produces sweat.

During this process a mass of hot rice, cooked with special herbs, which pacify Vata is immersed in a decoction of milk with herbal nutrients. The hot mass is then rubbed vigorously over the whole body, especially on muscle tissues and joints. It is usually performed after Snehana for a quarter of an hour.

Pindasweda improves muscle tone and gives nutrition to mamsa Dhatu and reduces Vata in the body. It is very beneficial for the treatment of facial paralysis and other degenerative diseases of muscle tissue, like the multisclerosis and muscular atrophy
